About The Library

With a collection of more than 29,000 textbooks, reference works, and local and international journals, the Central Library supports the academic life of Isra University's students and faculty. Dedicated internet access and separate discussion rooms for male and female students provide space for focused, independent work, while an expanding archive of audio, video, and multimedia material opens the collection to a wider world of ideas.

The library's holdings are spread across five buildings on campus. The newly established Block-D houses the central library, while Block A holds basic medical sciences and related subjects, and clinical sciences material is kept within the hospital premises. Resources for computer and management sciences are held in Block-B, and Isra Dental College maintains its own library for dental students. Every library on campus provides separate sections for male and female students.

Digital & Information Resources

The University draws on a distinguished set of tools to make its collection accessible — an online catalogue built on Koha, the Isra Institutional Repository powered by DSpace, an eBooks system built with Calibre, and QR code and barcode access throughout the stacks. These systems, together with flexible spaces for individual and collaborative learning, let students engage with material in the way that suits them best.

Through the Digital Library Program sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the University community also has access to an extensive body of international research journals — extending the library's reach well beyond its five walls.
